Jamaica update - furniture and music for new school

Christel House Jamaica is scheduled to open in August of 2020. (One-year delay caused by timing of required approvals.) Building design and construction plans are in the final stages of review, and work is already underway to establish community connections. New school and classroom furniture will be donated thanks to Food for the Poor, the largest charity organization in Jamaica. Hon. Sally Porteous, Director and Chairman of the Board of Christel House Jamaica, credits the Most Rev. Charles H. DuFour, Archbishop and Apostolic Administrator for the Mandeville Diocese for playing an important role in securing the donation. In addition to furnishings, the organization will also provide new musical instruments for the children of Christel House Jamaica. “We will have instruments suitable for a marching band,” says Sally proudly. “I am most grateful for the support we are receiving for Christel House Jamaica.”
