Prime Minister visits students in Jamaica

Christel House Jamaica welcomed the Prime Minister of Jamaica, The Most Hon. Andrew Holness, and the Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Hon. Fayval Williams. They joined students celebrating the school's pandemic- delayed opening ceremony festivities.

After touring classrooms and meeting students, Prime Minister Holness delivered the keynote address at the ceremony. “If you are going to break the inequity in the society, you need to get the students from the poorest communities, from the poorest households into the best schools.”  He offered praise for Christel House Jamaica. “I’m very happy to be here. Because it shows that we can build a first-class educational institution. Anywhere you go in the world, this school would meet the highest standards.” Bart Peterson, President and CEO of Christel House International, spoke of the vision of Christel DeHaan, the late Founder of Christel House. “Today we celebrate much more than a new building, more even the inauguration of a new school. We celebrate a mutual commitment to transform lives.” Following the address, Prime Minister Holness, Minister of Education Williams, and Mr. Peterson joined the Hon. Sally Porteous, Christel House Jamaica CEO, in cutting the ceremonial ribbon to officially open the school
