They are the first to do everything at Christel House Jamaica. Our Grade 6 cohort will be the first to transition from Grade 6 to high school and was the first to sit PEP exams.

This milestone is particularly significant given the challenges this group of students faced. Entering the school in Grade 2, they missed the foundational years of a Christel House education beginning in kindergarten. In addition, their education was impacted by pandemic-related school closures.

Despite these hurdles, our Grade 6 cohort is now on a growth trajectory.

Here are a few highlights from our PEP 6 results, which set a baseline for the way forward:

• 31% achieved Proficiency or Highly Proficient in all four areas tested
• 49% were classified on Pathway 1 and 35% on Pathway 2
• 63% achieved Proficiency or Highly Proficient in Science (within 5% of the national average of 68%)
