New High School: STEM & Ting

Christel House Jamaica is proud to open our new two-storey high school. This high school marks the second phase in the Christel House model in Jamaica, extending the delivery of holistic, world-class education to older students.

The two-storey facility is equipped with a ramp for accessibility, three science labs and an idea lab, where students’ ideas will come to life. The STEM/STEAM curriculum is designed to prepare students for CSEC, CAPE, City & Guilds, and Scholastic Aptitude Tests (SATs), offering both academic and vocational pathways.

Principal Jason Scott says, “The school will deliver a well-rounded education, giving students access to trades and collaboration with tertiary institutions such as HEART Trust/NSTA, CMU, and UTECH to maximise exposure and opportunities.”

Christel House Jamaica currently serves over 470 students. The first cohort of high school students are actively engaged in STEM subjects like Robotics and Coding, which has quickly become a favorite. Students are also exploring new subject areas such as Agriculture, Industrial Techniques, and more, expanding their skills and interests beyond the traditional curriculum.

This expansion is part of Christel House Jamaica’s larger approach, which provides up to five years of college and career counselling after graduation. We intend to establish partnerships with businesses to offer mentorship and internship opportunities, giving high school students early exposure to professional environments and practical experience.

Currently, only Grade 7 students are enrolled, with plans to add one grade each year until we reach full capacity of 840 students through Grade 13.
